After finishing the 2022–23 season with two domestic championships, Joao Cancelo is perhaps the luckiest defender in football right now.

The Portuguese defender began the year with Manchester City, where he made 17 appearances for the Citizens. However, after a falling out with Pep Guardiola, he left the Citizens and joined Bayern Munich on loan in January.

Cancelo, who also made 15 appearances for the Bavarians, finished the 2022–23 season with a Bundesliga and English Premier League champions medal. This was due to Bayern and Manchester City winning the respective league championships in England and Germany.

Due to Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 tie at FSV Mainz, Bayern Munich, who entered matchday 34 second, triumphed 2-1 at FC Koln to win the Bundesliga for an 11th straight season.
